Cloud & DevOps
Cloud and DevOps until operations get boring
You can tell good infrastructure by the fact that nobody talks about it. Buying tools does not get you there. Automation, traceability and clear ownership do.
Many cloud projects stop halfway: the applications run in the cloud, but deployments are still manual, environments differ in ways nobody can explain, and no one can say why last month's bill went up. The benefit never arrives, the complexity does.
We work on three fronts: infrastructure as code, so every environment is reproducible. Automated delivery, so a release stops being an event. And observability, so statements about system behaviour rest on measurements rather than on guesses.
What you get
Cloud migration
Moving existing applications in stages, with a fallback for each stage and an honest calculation of running costs before and after.
Infrastructure as Code
Your infrastructure as versioned code with Terraform. Every change is traceable, reviewable and reproducible on a second environment in minutes.
CI/CD pipelines
Build, test and deployment automated, including a test environment per change and a way back that actually works when you need it.
Observability
Logs, metrics and alerting set up so that being on call does not mean guessing at night. Alerts nobody takes seriously get removed.
How we work
Measure the baseline
How long does a release take today, how often does it fail, how long does recovery take? Without a baseline no improvement can be demonstrated later.
Lay the foundation
Environments, networking, access and secrets as code. Everything else builds on that, which is why it comes first.
Automate
Delivery first, then tests, then infrastructure changes. In that order the benefit shows up earliest.
Hand over
Runbook, alerting paths and a joint on-call exercise. We are not done until your team handles an incident without us.
Technologies involved
- Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
- Docker and container orchestration
- GitHub Actions for build and deployment pipelines
- Traefik as a reverse proxy with automated certificate management
- Centralised logs, metrics and alerting
- Hosting in the EU, provider chosen together with you
Common questions about this service
Do we have to move to a particular cloud provider?
No. We pick the provider based on your requirements around data protection, cost and the knowledge already in your team. Infrastructure as Code keeps a later move open instead of closing it off.
What will operations cost afterwards?
That depends on load and availability requirements. We calculate running costs before the migration and compare them with the current state, so the decision rests on numbers rather than on a promise.
Can you set up just the deployment pipeline?
Yes. A working CI/CD pipeline is a sensible first step that pays off independently of any migration and usually stands within a few weeks.
